2018 Report

The BMW Show 2018 was a great success; the glorious British summer didn’t let us down with a scorcher of a day, blue skies and brilliant sunshine – we hope there aren’t too many burnt bimmer enthusiasts out there today! Showcasing some of the finest German machinery in the UK and with an action-packed line-up full of exhilarating entertainment both on and off the track, we hope you enjoyed your weekend celebrating all things BMW!

The Show Paddock hosted the Autoglym Show & Shine competition. With a jam-packed paddock of immaculate BMWs, it was a very tough decision process for the judges with some very high-spec vehicles on display. However, after many turns around the paddock, I’m sure you’ll agree, the winners were as follows:

We hope you all managed to catch the monstrous Nitro Funny Car runs!? Jason Phelps drove for Team Hawk Racing as they tested this nitro breathing beast out on the quarter mile; their last run saw an incredible 4.72 @ 225.76mph at the 1000’! Well done to all the team!

We hope you all had your cameras at the ready - tearing down the strip in 5.86 seconds at a mind-blowing 278.04mph, Martin Hill’s weapon of choice for the day was FireForce 3, The Jet Funny Car!

Over on the Live Stage, car show legend, DJ Richie Don, provided us with the perfect soundtrack for the BMW Show, keeping us entertained over in the Show Paddock all day long. We were given one hell of a show over in Live Action as the arena played host to a stunt masterclass in the form of Terry Grant, whilst over in the Drift Arenas we got our fix of sideways, rubber burning action as we witnessed these masters of precision and power at their best. We hope you all grabbed a drift ride or two!

As one of the biggest BMW car club displays in the UK, we would like to say a big thank you to all the clubs for their continued support each year - we marveled at the pristine machinery on display – see you soon!

We would like to thank everyone who attended BMW Show 2018 and from all the Santa Pod team, we hope you had a great day! See you next year!
