BMW SHOW 2010
Sunday 19th September at Santa Pod Raceway
with RWYB Saturday 18th September

The BMW Show at Santa Pod Raceway is back for it's fifth year and all BMWs are welcome- race cars, show cars, modern, retros, classics, new minis and BMW bikes.

BMWs have all the right elements to make great drag cars. Powerful engines, rear-wheel drive and stable handling all add up to unbeatable straight-line fun. It's no wonder so many BMW owners are hooked on Run What Ya Brung events at Santa Pod Raceway.

It's for this reason that Santa Pod introduced an event exclusively for BMW owners, where the track is open only to Bavaria's finest. Camping is available to all those that wish to stay for an extra day of fun at the Pod with RWYB on Saturday and music in Fuelers bar on Saturday night plus fun fair rides.

The BMW SHOW 2010 will feature:

Run What Ya Brung (BMWs only)

Get your car out on the famous ¼ mile! Full performance print out for each run, and competition with trophies for fastest 4, 6 & 8 cylinder cars. £25 for UNLIMITED runs on the track!

Classes

All vehicles that run during the day are put into classes and there are trophies for the fastest in each class.

Class A - 4 cylinder
Class B - 6 cylinder
Class C - 8 or more cylinders
Class D - Diesels
Class E - BMW Bikes
Class X - Non road legal (including all cars on slicks)

Drivers of diesel cars can choose to enter either their cylinder class (A/B/C) or the Diesel class.

To enter the RWYB, simply enter on the day. You will need to bring your normal road driving licence to enter. Drivers of soft-top vehicles and those doing 110mph+ at the finish line will need a crash helmet. More details on the RWYB page.

If you have never taken your car on the track before then not to worry as there will be a RWYB School explaining exactly what to do and what not to.

If you want maximum track time then come for the weekend as there is a RWYB on Saturday 18th September with free camping for weekend ticket holders.

If you can't wait until BMW Show, visit www.RWYB.com for a full calendar of RWYB dates at Santa Pod Raceway.

Best of Show
Show & Shine

Show & Shine Competition (BMWs Only)

Got a sweet BMW show car? Whether it's a concours classic, or a modern modified monster, you are welcome to park up in the Show Car Paddock. There’s no need to pre-enter, and anyone with a BMW can enter on the day for FREE. We’ve got trophies for the BEST OF SHOW, BEST CUSTOM and BEST ORIGINAL so don’t leave it in the carpark where nobody can see it, get it round to the show & shine area, located behind the grandstand and you might be going home with a trophy.

  1. Don’t forget to register your entry when you arrive in the show & shine area, registration is FREE.
  2. Don’t forget to attend the presentations to find out if you have won.

Judging criteria: This isn’t a concours show, so we won’t be knocking off points for non-original brake pads, but the judges will be choosing the cars they like best purely on the look and overall condition. The best original will go to older cars in exceptional condition. The best custom is for cars that are heavily modified, and best of show is the car that everyone wants to take home!

Jet Car

Jet Car

With a sound like thunder and 20ft flames spewing out the back of this 270mph monster, you won’t be able to miss the Fireforce Jet Car if you tried.

Keep your eyes peeled for other spectacular dragsters from national drag classes out on track too.

BMW Drift Shows!

Whether you are a hardened drift fan or new to the sideways, smoky world of drifting, you'll love the drift track, featuring some of the UK's best BMW-driving drifters plus special guests! 2009 will see a bigger drift area then last year with more BMWs. Passenger rides will also be available.

What do drifters look for in a drift car? Big horsepower, rear wheel drive, and sure handling… that's why BMWs are making inroads in the drift scene. If you want to see what drifting is all about, make sure you catch one of the scheduled shows. In between the shows, there is bound to be some action from practice runs too, so take a seat and soak it up.

The vast majority of drift cars are of Japanese origin, so look out for some Jap car vs BMW drift battles during the shows which will take place at 11am and 3pm.

If you are interested in trying drifting for yourself then Santa Pod holds regular Drift What Ya Brung days, full details are at www.DWYB.co.uk.
